Written description of how your congregation develops leadership
These descriptions will be posted on the EMS website and will be available to conference participants and others who might be interested.
Here are a few guidelines:
- Write a brief description of 500-1000 words regarding how you develop leadership within your congregation.
- Consider answering the following questions: (You do not need to work all these questions into your description.)
- What caused you to begin to think about developing leaders and ministers out of your congregation?
- Describe the attitudes and history that make calling leaders possible in your congregation
- Describe how you develop leadership within your congregation.
- What do you do to encourage people to consider lay or professional ministry?
- How do you give them meaningful experiences in lay or professional ministry?
- What kinds of training do you give the leaders you are developing?
- What barriers or difficulties do you face in developing leadership within your congregation?
- Remember that this will be posted on the web so be as candid as possible without jeopardizing confidentiality.
