Orientation for Class of 2017 and Transfer Students
August 24-25, 2013
Welcome! We’re thrilled you’ve chosen EMU! Everyone on campus is ready to help you transition to life as a college student. Orientation is an exciting time, busy but fun, and full of opportunities to meet the professors, staff and other students who will make your time at EMU the best ever. Check out the schedule at a glance!
First years
First years should check in at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24. on the upper level of University Commons.
Transfer students
Transfer students should arrive for residence hall move-in at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, then check-in for orientation activities at 2:30 p.m. that day in Common Grounds coffeehouse, located on the lower level of University Commons.
International, missionary and third-culture kids
If you are an international, missionary or third-culture kid, we have a special, supplemental orientation program, designed just for you! It begins Wednesday, August 21.
Parents
Parent activities are scheduled through 1 p.m. Sunday, August 25. Throughout orientation you’ll be meeting with your child’s professors, learning about campus, and helping to define what this time will be like for your son or daughter.
