Welcome to Cedarwood!

Cedarwood houses a mixture of first-year and returning students.

In fall 2011 EMU’s newest dorm Cedarwood became the first dorm in Virginia to receive ‘gold’ certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), one of the highest environmental standards for construction. It’s one of just 33 dorms nationwide to achieve gold, and it utilizes solar energy.

Types of rooms

Double rooms:
Rooms designed for two persons. Students who do not request a roommate will be assigned a roommate.

Triple rooms:
Rooms designed for three persons. Students who do not request roommates will be assigned roommates.

  • Standard room size : 11’ 4″ × 15′ 4" (including closets)
  • Triple rooms in pods :13’ 10″ × 17′ 4" (including closets)
  • Triple rooms in center on second and third floors: 15’4" x 18’0" (including closets)
