Meet the Staff!

Jan Kauffman , the director of housing and residence life supervises a staff of approximately 37 people each year.

The Assistant Director (AD) of Housing and Residence Life is a part time staff member who assists the Director and RDs with various tasks. This person has appropriate educational background and experience and is carefully selected on the basis of his or her ability to provide leadership and assistance to those working in Residence Life.

Residence Directors (RDs) are also members of the department of housing and residence life and the university's student life division.

Some RDs are full-time graduate students who serve as part-time staff in residence life. They have appropriate undergraduate education and experience and are carefully selected on the basis of their ability to provide leadership and facilitate interpersonal relationships among residents of the hall.

Community Advisers (CAs) are student para-professional members of the Residence Life staff. Each residence hall is divided into units with student Community Advisors as leaders. CAs are carefully selected and trained to serve as peer counselors and facilitators.
