Regalia

For graduation regalia, diploma frames, class rings, personalized invitations etc, think University Bookstore! In mid February you will be able to place your orders for caps, gowns, tassels, graduate program hoods etc, at the Graduation Center. You'll also want to check out diploma frames and personalized invitations. In search for discounts? They will be offered on class rings.

Academic Honors

Academic Honors are awarded to baccalaureate and ADCP degree students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.6 or above (A = 4.0) and with no grade lower than a "C" at EMU. To qualify for graduation honors, a student must have completed at least 48 [31 for ADCP] graded semester hours at EMU.

*** Summa Cum Laude 3.90 - 4.00 GPA
** Magna Cum Laude 3.80 - 3.89 GPA
* Cum Laude 3.60 - 3.79 GPA

Graduation/Senior Photo

Graduation day is coming and once again this year every graduate will be photographed as they are handed their diploma. You will be able to view these photos later the same day at www.King1HourPhoto.com. There you will be able to see not only photos of all yourself but also classmates receiving their diplomas as seen from the stage.

Information on how to order your graduation pictures will be sent to your parents/guardians in early February. All photos will be available soon after the commencement ceremony ends till June 1, 2008. Place your orders as soon as you are able to before the pictures are taken down on June 1.

Graduation Center

All graduates are strongly encouraged to visit the Graduation Center which will be held outside the University Bookstore. In addition to the opportunity to order your caps & gowns, announcements, etc., this is the chance you have to make sure that your name, major/minor, hometown etc are as you'd like them to appear in the commencement program. Grad Center this year will be on Wednesday February 20 (3 -6 p.m.) and Thursday February 21 (9 a.m. - 3 p.m.).

Address Changes

Please make sure the university has your correct address when you leave. This ensures that important correspondence from EMU gets to you in a timely manner after you have graduated. It also helps us help your friends get in touch with you.

A Graduate Information sheet will be distributed at the rehearsal on Friday April 25 at 3-4:30 p.m. (For seminary students, the form will be distributed near the end of the academic year.) On this sheet, you will be asked to enter the address at which you can be reached after you graduate. Please fill in as much as you will be able to at the time.

All alumni are highly encouraged to let the alumni office know of any change of address whenever they move using the alumni directory, or emailing or calling 540.432.4294.
