Auditions for 2013-2014
August 22, 2013
Auditions are for children and youth in grades 2-11 (school year 2013-2014) who love to sing, want to learn how to sight read and enjoy performing. The choir is a wonderful community building activity!
Eastern Mennonite Seminary building, room 203, on EMU campus. See map.
You may also consider the Explorers program for children ages 5-8. These non-auditioned,
non-performing classes, use movement, games, and fun to teach children good singing technique, music reading and music fundamentals.

Other Information
Acceptance into the Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir is based on interest, commitment, enthusiasm and musical ability. Children who love to sing, can match pitch and have positive, cooperative attitudes are invited to audition.
What to Expect
Following the audition, children often ask, “is that all?” The audition is not intimidating, difficult, or worrisome! A short, five-minute meeting and listening time is all that is required. No prepared solo is needed. Come ready to sing some familiar songs such as “Happy Birthday”, “Row Your Boat”, and an echo game.
