Rooted in the City, Growing Through Service
In honor of the 29th anniversary of the WCSC (formerly WSSY) program, alumni and all others are invited to attend a reunion and the blessing of the program's new facility, the Nelson Good House, still under construction.
Having served hundreds of EMU students (and many from partnering universities) for nearly three decades, the program has a special place in the heart of all alumni. The celebration will commence on Aug. 20, 2005 at
836 Taylor Street NE,
Washington, D.C.

Pictured (l to r) in front of the program's new facility, now in development: Doug Hertzler, associate director of WCSC and assistant professor of Anthropology and Sociology; Kim Schmidt, director of WCSC and associate professor of history; the late Nelson Good, founder of the WSSY/WCSC program; and David Conrad, architect.

The formal program will start at 3 p.m. at our new location. Alumni and friends are welcome to visit the historic location on South Dakota Avenue from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Please participate in the creation of the Nelson Good House by bringing a plant or rock and helping us to plant a butterfly garden (check out our plant list on www.evite.com). The garden, built by alumni and friends of WSSY/WCSC, will be a legacy gift to future generations of WCSC students. The rocks will edge the garden.
