A place to promote wellness
A goal of EMU health services is to promote wellness and to encourage students to become responsible for their own health. The center sponsors preventive programs that address the various needs of young adults, such as nutrition, human sexuality, substance abuse, weight control, exercise and stress.
The health center coordinates health care for students preparing for cross-cultural experiences, and the center provides comprehensive care for acute illnesses and women’s health issues.
Director, Margaret Carr Upton is a family nurse practitioner who is qualified to assess and treat students with illness or injuries.

Rates
- Office visits $10, $15, and $25
- A $40 fee is charged for sports and nursing physicals
- A $70 fee is charged for a GYN exam with PAP
- Charges are also made for lab, immunizations, some supplies, medications, and dressings.
- Aids such as crutches, ice packs and heating pads are available for loan.
Notice: As of 1/5/09 Health Services will be assessing a $10 charge for all no-show appointments . Accounts will be billed the $10 fee. Please call in advance to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment to avoid this $10 fee.
